Guild Application Process

The minimum level for new recruits applying to The Dying Sun is an adventuring level of 40.

Step 1: Interview Process

If you feel like The Dying Sun might be the home for you then please read and understand the information on this page, then get in contact with a recruitment officer. We will try and answer any questions you have as honestly as possible and tell you more about the guild. The recruiting officer will then ask you several questions about your play style and gaming background. This is partly so that we can get to know you better and also to help prevent farmers or plat sellers from entering the guild.

If we are happy with your responses and feel that you will be able to integrate with the rest of the guild, you will be sent a guild invite but will be expected to register on our website within two days (by clicking on the 'New User' link at the top of our website, or if you already have a Guild Portal account you can simply click 'Join The Dying Sun').

Step 2: Trial Process

Once accepted into The Dying Sun as a new recruit there is a 14 day evaluation period, whereby any behaviour perceived to be unacceptable by any of the full members of The Dying Sun may be grounds for immediate dismissal. During this period of time, you will have full access to the forums and event pages of the website. You will be guild-tagged but not be able to access our guild bank or purchase status items such as houses or horses that require a certain guild level.

In order for your trial to be successful, you must receive endorsement from four (4) full members and one (1) officer. The best way to get these endorsements is to group with as many Full Members as you are able. Do not be shy about reminding Full Members in your group to post their endorsement of you on The Dying Sun website. Once that is achieved, you will be promoted to Full Member. If you do not receive the proper endorsements, you are welcome to reapply after a week's time has passed from the end of your trial period. If you fail a second trial you will not be permitted a third.

Step 3: Promotion

After the trial period is complete and you have received the required endorsements, you become a full member of The Dying Sun.

Please direct any queries regarding this application process to a Guild Officer or a Guild Leader.

Guild Code of Conduct

The following Code of Conduct is not a fixed set of rules, but a set of principles that will aid us in working together as a team that can support each other for the benefit of the guild. We advise our members to review these principles regularly. Anyone who ignores what is written below or repeatedly acts against it may be removed from the guild following completion of our disciplinary system.

I. A Member of The Dying Sun shall always maintain a positive attitude towards other guild members, and other players not associated with The Dying Sun. Try and always keep others happy and up beat. A happy Guild member is a good guild member.
II. A Member of The Dying Sun should always maintain a positive appearance for the guild. Dont run around and shout flames at other players. Dont do anything that might offend another player. Try and always act the way you would want others to act towards/or around yourself.
III. Members of The Dying Sun should always try to communicate with one another regularly. When someone logs on always try and greet them. When you log on always try and say hello to anyone who might be playing at the moment. Also try to keep fowl language out of guild chat. Also try to refrain for cussing/swearing while in a group with none guild members. This will give The Dying Sun a good Reputation/Appearance.
IV. As a Member of The Dying Sun, always try to be responsive. If a fellow member asks for help with something respond right away, even if you are unable to help at the moment. This will make members feel like they are cared about, not shunned. Always try to check the website for raids and or events planned and respond. This will help the officers keep track of who has done what.
V. Teamwork must be held as a high priority for all Members of The Dying Sun. Without it we fail. Always try to lend a hand to the guild in any aspect. Whether it is helping a lower level player level, or a group of guild members with a quest, just try to help. This might be Crafting an Item for a member, or just giving a member some information on a quest they might be working. Always try to help in anyway possible.
VI. We want the Members of The Dying Sun to play Ever Quest 2 with a level of comfort that they desire. A member should not try to make another player do or help with anything that another member has already said they wish not to help with. Keep requests for items form a crafter down to a minimum, so as to not overwhelm another player. Play comfortably and you will play happy.
VII. As with Comfort, we also want Members of The Dying Sun to have their privacy. If you ask a member to help with something and they say they are busy, do not ask why, and or what they are doing. Members should not have to tell people what they are up to if they choose not to.
VIII. As a Member of The Dying Sun you must try to hold yourself accountable. If you signup for a raid and miss it, please try to send an email or at the very least post an apology on the website. Also if you offer to help another player with something, try to help them all the way through. If you can not commit to finish with what you start, then try to not start something. No one likes to leave things half finished.

Above all, remember this I am a member of The Dying Sun and I wear the guild tag above my head. Whatever I say, whatever I do reflects upon not just myself, but everyone else in the guild. Always try to present a positive image for yourself and the Guild.

And never forget this is a game, have fun, play hard. Games matter not in the long run, so dont stress the small things.

Xaverous, The Loreseeker
Guild Leader

Guild Rules

The following Rules must be adhered to in order to remain a member in The Dying Sun.

I. Members must log on at least once every 30 days in order to remain in The Dying Sun, unless notice of extended absence is given in advance. Alts must be logged in once every 50 days.
II. Members must concentrate the majority of their time on their main character. This is for the benefit of the guild as a whole. Any switches of main characters must be discussed with a guild officer in advance. Once a player brings their characters to 80, their main focus may naturally switch to their new main character (an alt).
III. Members must be a full member before they can have an alts in the guild. There is no limit to the number of alts at this point but you must continue to focus on levelling your main as a priority. Changes in main character can be discussed with a guild officer.
IV. Members must respect the raid leader in his/her decision of which of your characters is most needed for a particular raid. It is better to succeed as a guild and discuss possible changes in main characters later if needed.
V. Members must respect and be sensitive of other members play styles and views. This includes religion and politics which must be kept out of guild chat.
VI. Members must not flame in guild chat or in the forums. Any such issues that you have with other members must be directed to an officer and not thrashed out publicly.
VII. Members must attend events they have signed up for or give notice if they cannot make an event after signing up.
VIII. Members must try to be on time for guild events they have signed up for by being at the meeting location on time, fully repaired and adequately equipped for the event.
IX. Members are expected to attend guild raids if they are online at the time even if they have not signed up but ONLY IF they have the time and are capable of doing so. Raids are not mandatory.
X. Members are expected to complete the essentials for at least their main character: Languages, Lore and Legend and Manastone quests.
XI. Raid Mains and Raid Alts must not enter zones that we are DKP raiding for 15 days prior to a scheduled TDS DKP raid. The monthly DKP raid schedule is posted in the Upcoming Events Forum. Before you attend ANY non-TDS x4 raid you should confirm with an officer. The penalty for breaching this rule the first time is a warning. A second offense warrants removal from the guild. This includes your Dying Sun guild main character. If you have not chosen a raid main, the default is your main character in TDS. Please realize that the objectives are to keep your characters free to raid wherever/whenever you want while maintaining availability to The Dying Sun, your guildmates, for scheduled raids. The rule only applies to x4 Raids, i.e. Raids that can take 24 people. It does not apply to other schedule events such as 6-man instances. WoE or any upcoming x2 (12-man) zones. You can only change your RM/RA every three months.
XII. Members must not knowingly hide information regarding their characters or accounts from guild officers.
XIII. Members must follow "Need Before Greed" (NBG) when it comes to loot in both guild and pickup groups and raids.
XIV. Members must not partake in activities that have been deemed exploits by SOE or that is banned by the guild leadership.
